To be considered for a Concrete Mixer Truck Operator position, candidates should possess a safe driving record, excellent work references, and a stable work history that ideally reflects prior concrete, construction, or driving experience.

Before you begin your new career as a Concrete Mixer Truck Operator, you should be aware of some of the job expectations:
- Safety and Customer Service are our top priorities.
- You will need a flexible schedule. Start times vary daily and can often be very early in the morning. Finish times will also vary depending on the work volume of the day.
- The workweek is Monday - Saturday. You may be needed to work up to 60 hours per week.
- Good attendance is key to the success of the Company. Everyone is expected to maintain good attendance and punctuality habits.
- Driving the Mixer Truck is only half of the job. Once we arrive at the customer's jobsite, we provide first-rate customer service and display our expertise in placing the concrete exactly where the customer wants it.
- You will be working outdoors, in and out of your assigned vehicle.
- Be aware that inclement weather can interfere with our work schedules.
Additional requirements for this position include:
- A safe driving record
- Have a stable work history that reflects at least a 1-year term of service average per job
- No unexplainable gaps in employment
- The ability to work an irregular schedule (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, overtime, etc.)
- Reliable means to arrive to work as schedule
- Good references
- Ability to read and write English.
- A valid Class B or higher CDL preferred. CDL Permit required.
- Good customer service skills as well as a courteous and pleasant attitude
- Prior experience driving a Class 8 (Heavy Truck) commercial vehicle and/or experience with construction/concrete related equipment.
- An appearance that reflects the image of professional Metro Ready Mix Truck Operator
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Our Concrete Mixer Truck Operators enjoy the market’s most competitive Total Compensation Package, which includes great pay.
All Concrete Mixer Truck Operators will receive a 90-day performance evaluation at which time your pay may be increased.
Operators also become eligible for the Company Benefit Package after they have successfully completed the 90-day orientation period.
Metro Ready Mix Concrete is also a strong advocate of career development. We have several programs designed to enhance your career and knowledge of the concrete industry. One such program is the Certified Delivery Professional program. Concrete Mixer Truck Operators who complete this certification program are rewarded with higher hourly pay than those who have not received their certification.

Training & Education
Metro Ready Mix is also a former Second Place recipient
of the NRMCA's Excellence in Training Award. Top of the
line training and education are another example of why
MRM is a known leader in the concrete industry.
Currently, over half of our mixer operators are Certified
Concrete Delivery Professionals, by the NRMCA. Our Sales
Staff, or Customer Representatives, are all Certified
Concrete Sales Professsionals, also a national certification
by the NRMCA. We also have numerous employees with American
Concrete Insititute Certifications. Our Quality Assurance
Department, are all certified as NRMCA Level III Concrete
Technologists Each of our Plant Managers are ACI - Level
1 Certified Concrete Field Technicians, as well as Tennessee
Department of Transportation (TDOT) Level II Concrete
Plant Technician certified.
Metro Ready Mix also employs several graduates and interns
from the Concrete Industry Management Program at Middle Tennessee State University, the first four year Concrete Degree in the United States.

mix industry.
New Middle Tennessee Training & Development Center
Metro Ready Mix recently acquired a New State of the Art
Truck Training Simulator. The Mark III Driver/Operator Simulator
is one of few of it's kind in the United States. The simulator
is a motion-based driver training simulator with a fully
operational dash, instrument panel, and controls. Special
effects such as day and night driving, adverse weather conditions
(rain, fog, & snow), and simulated mechanical failures,
all are included in training with the Mark III Simulator.
The purpose being safety and better preparing truck drivers
and mixer operators for the road.
The Middle Tennessee Training and Development Center provides
three types of training: instructor led classroom training,
computer based training, as well as Simulator training.
Our training process provides the ability to learn and demonstrate
good decisions while driving, by encountering real life
situations, and without endangering lives or damaging property.
Our training objectives include calculating safe following
distances, learning space management for typical techniques
and driving hazards, and identifying the major factors affecting
fuel usage. The benefits of fuel efficiency, not only help
the driver/operator, but the company and the environment.
The Middle Tennessee Training and Development Center is
open to help numerous amounts of people from many different
companies. For anyone interested in training, or having
others trained, we are here to help. For training information
