Benefits
Every Full-Time Employee of Metro Ready Mix Concrete
who has successfully completed the
90-day orientation period becomes eligible to participate
in the Company Benefits Plan.
- Medical Insurance Coverage
Single or dependant coverage is available through a
PPO Health Plan. The Company pays 100% of the monthly
premium cost for the Employee's coverage and a large
percentage of their Family coverage.
Each year the company also funds the majority of the
employee's household
deductible. The employee's remaining portion of their
deductible may be deducted from their paycheck on a
pre-tax basis through the utilization of a Health Reimbursement
Arrangement (HRA).
- Dental Insurance
Two dental plans are available through CompBenefits.
Individual
and family coverage are available through payroll deduction.
Rates start at
under $3.00 per week for single coverage and under $7.00
per week for
family coverage.
- Vision Insurance
CompBenefits also makes available a Vision Insurance
Plan.
The Vision Plan provides exams, lenses, and frames for
a low co-pay charge.
- Profit Sharing
The Company shares a portion of the annual profits with
the
employees. Part of the Emplyee's share is deposited
into a retirement account
and the remainder is distributed in cash.
- 401K Savings Plan
Team members can contribute up to 15% of their income
into the
401K plan. Metro Ready Mix will match a percentage of
the contributions. The company match is subject to a
vesting schedule. The 401K plan is available to all
team members on the first day of the month following
the commencement of their employment.
- Uniforms
Metro Ready Mix Concrete will pay half of the cost of
the standard
uniform package provided by our uniform vendor. The
standard set of uniforms
includes 11 shirts, 11 pants, and one jacket.
- Credit Association
All employees are eligible to become a member with the
Employee's Credit Association.
- Time Off
After the completion of the 90-day orientation period,
all full-time
employees are eligible for paid holidays, and paid personal
days. After
the completion of the first year of employment, employees
accrue vacation time.
- Direct Deposit
Direct Deposit is available to all team members. Up
to three
direct deposits are available per pay period.
Training & Education
Metro Ready Mix is also a former Second Place recipient
of the NRMCA's Excellence in Training Award. Top of the
line training and education are another example of why
MRM is a known leader in the concrete industry.
Currently, over half of our mixer operators are Certified
Concrete Delivery Professionals, by the NRMCA. Our Sales
Staff, or Customer Representatives, are all Certified
Concrete Sales Professsionals, also a national certification
by the NRMCA. We also have numerous employees with American
Concrete Insititute Certifications. Our Quality Assurance
Department, are all certified as NRMCA Level III Concrete
Technologists Each of our Plant Managers are ACI - Level
1 Certified Concrete Field Technicians, as well as Tennessee
Department of Transportation (TDOT) Level II Concrete
Plant Technician certified.
Metro Ready Mix also employs several graduates and interns
from the Concrete Industry Management Program at Middle Tennessee State University, the first four year Concrete Degree in the United States.

New Middle Tennessee Training & Development Center
Metro Ready Mix recently acquired a New State of the Art
Truck Training Simulator. The Mark III Driver/Operator Simulator
is one of few of it's kind in the United States. The simulator
is a motion-based driver training simulator with a fully
operational dash, instrument panel, and controls. Special
effects such as day and night driving, adverse weather conditions
(rain, fog, & snow), and simulated mechanical failures,
all are included in training with the Mark III Simulator.
The purpose being safety and better preparing truck drivers
and mixer operators for the road.
The Middle Tennessee Training and Development Center provides
three types of training: instructor led classroom training,
computer based training, as well as Simulator training.
Our training process provides the ability to learn and demonstrate
good decisions while driving, by encountering real life
situations, and without endangering lives or damaging property.
Our training objectives include calculating safe following
distances, learning space management for typical techniques
and driving hazards, and identifying the major factors affecting
fuel usage. The benefits of fuel efficiency, not only help
the driver/operator, but the company and the environment.
The Middle Tennessee Training and Development Center is
open to help numerous amounts of people from many different
